Theme Tune from the Wire
In 2009 Mish and I became slightly obsessed with the TV Show The Wire (true to form about 18 months after everyone else). Everybody has a favourite version of Tom Wait’s “Way Down in the Hole” (Mine was Season 1 whilst Mish prefered the one for Season 4, which was performed by Baltimore teenagers)
Here’s my homage to the theme tune on the old banjo whilst mucking about with a half slide I found.

I love it. I remember watching all of the seasons of the wire in one month. It was like a full time job for me. At the time I thought I should try to learn to play this song, but then forgot about it.
I love your version. Excellent playing and an excellent blues voice. I want to hear more from you.

Awesome. I am a massive fan of the Wire and Tom Waits. Don’t suppose you’ve tabbed this out? Are you playing in open G?
